How can I purchase a child’s ceramic impression from Captive Creations Imprints?
Come to one of my retail shows or craft fair exhibits in Yuma County, Arizona. How long does the imprint process take?
Each appointment lasts about 15-20 minutes. You complete the order form with your choice of style, glaze and personalization. Glaze color samples will be available for your selection. I will have the order form at the event or you may Print the order form available here and bring the completed form with you to your scheduled appointment, this will speed up the process. The actual imprint of your child’s hands or feet only takes a few minutes.
Is this safe for children?
YES! The clay is non-toxic and will feel slightly cold to the touch. Some babies cry because it’s cold but there is nothing to fear as your child is completely safe. Your child's hands will need to be sanitized with soap and water or baby wipes after the imprint is made.
Are Captive Creations Imprint plaques similar to the do it at home kits?
No! The quality of my clay impressions far exceeds the imprint kits available at retail stores – you’ll be able to see ever little fine detail from your child’s hands and feet. In addition I have a 10-step process that includes glazing and Kiln firing. Making your Captive Creations Imprint far more unique and artful then those purchased at retail stores. Your Imprint will far exceed the home kits and will be a beautiful art piece for you to display for years to come.
What happens if you are unable to get a neat and clean print?
This is not typical, but I will make 3 attempts to get a good impression. After the 3rd unsuccessful attempt, I will ask you to return at a later date to try again. As all mothers know, our little ones have good days and bad days and all of this will depend on your child’s cooperation. I suggest that your child is well rested and fed when you come to your appointment; this will insure that I will get a neat and clean impression. Please let me know ahead of time if you feel that your child might not be cooperative.
Is there an age limit?
No, there is no age limit. However, there are certain plaques and ornaments that have a size limit. Please call or email me for more information.
When and how do I pay?
You can pay by cash, check ($25.00 charge to all NSF checks), Paypal (via credit card or paypal) at the time your order is placed. Arizona sales tax applies for Arizona residents.
When and how do I get my custom Imprint?
Your Captive Creations Imprint will be ready in 6 to 8 weeks. I will call you when it is ready to be picked up at the location the Imprint was made, or for an additional cost it can be shipped via USPS Priority directly to you. Why does it take so long? It takes many steps to get your impression to be a beautiful piece of art and it is all done by hand. I want to make sure that you are completely happy with the impression when you receive it.
What happens if my Imprint gets damaged during production or when shipped to me?
Great care is taken to ensure the quality and undamaged arrival of your print. On the rare occasion that your order is damaged during production or shipping, you can choose a full refund; or a re-print can be done at our next event or at our home studio at no additional cost. Due to the nature of your handcrafted plaque, minor imperfections will be found on all of them.

... Please note that each ceramic hand and foot impression is a unique piece of art. Defects may occur due to misfiring, glaze impurities or material contaminants. If this happens, I will be happy to redo your order at no additional cost or offer a full refund. Since each print is hand made, and therefore hand painted, no two are alike. I cannot guarantee that your prints will have the exact shade of glaze nor the same thickness that you see at the Show and/or Online. Each piece is a masterpiece of its own and no two are alike. I also cannot guarantee that you will see all of the lines and/or wrinkles in the hands or feet. Due to the process of making ceramic art, some of the major lines may be lost or covered with glaze.
What if I’m not 100% satisfied?
Customer satisfaction is what my business is built on. In the event you are not 100% satisfied with your Captive Creations Imprint, return it within 7 days and you will receive a full refund (Shipping and home visits are non-refundable).
Do you do group events?
Yes! This is a great way to plan an event for a playgroup, a child’s first birthday party, a Mommy’s Group or a children’s store event. I will come to you and your friends with a minimum order of (8) Captive Creations Imprints. Host receives a $10.00 credit for each family that makes a purchase or the group may receive 10% off their order. Just contact my by phone or email me to schedule your event. If you would like to do a fundraiser for a preschool, church or non-profit organization, call or email me.
Do you give your customers referral rewards?
But of course! There is no better compliment than a referral. If you refer your friends and family to Captive Creations Imprints, you receive a $10.00 gift certificate towards any Captive Creations Imprint. Gift certificates may be combined with no limit.
Can I schedule an individual appointment with you?
Yes! I can accommodate individual appointments at either my home studio on special occasions or schedule a house call for an additional cost (depends on distance from my studio) plus the cost of your Captive Creations Imprint. Call or email me.
Can I give one as a gift?
Absolutely! A Captive Creations Imprint Gift Certificate is a unique gift for any occasion such as baby showers,Fathers/Mothers day, a hospital visit for a newborn, christenings, baptisms, birthdays or even special holidays.
